Möðrudalur is a farm settlement in Norður-Múlasýsla in Eastern Iceland - on the edge of the highlands. It is the highest inhabited place in the country.

Sunset at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, Iceland. 2021. Soft pink, orange and magenta in the sky as the sun slowly starts its descent beyond the horizon.
Never before have I seen a sky with a vertical clear line between two colours, almost as if drawn with a ruler. It looks surreal and seems to divide the image into two halves - the remaining part of the day on the left and the incoming night on the right.

A noble and elegant Icelandic horse. In this image, I wanted the story to be about the mane and back of the horse (hence the title) - rather than focusing on the head and face. The mane has a luminous glow and a wonderful flow which I noticed on all Icelandic horses.
